Our Philosophy
Year 3 marks an exciting transition into Verrières – Growing with Purpose, where students build upon the strong foundations established in Le Rosey and continue to grow as confident, capable and compassionate learners.
As Creative Collaborators, Year 3 students are encouraged to learn alongside and from one another, valuing the gifts, perspectives and contributions of others. Grounded in the Marist tradition, students are nurtured within a learning community where relationships are valued, each child is known and supported, and a strong sense of belonging enables every learner to flourish.
Through a balance of inquiry, collaboration and explicit instruction, students develop their ability to think creatively, communicate effectively and approach challenges with curiosity and resilience. Learning experiences encourage students to ask questions, solve problems, make connections and work together towards shared goals.
Literacy and numeracy remain central to learning in Year 3. Through intentional and differentiated teaching practices, students continue to strengthen their reading, writing and mathematical skills while applying their learning in meaningful and authentic contexts. As their independence grows, students are encouraged to take increasing ownership of their learning and celebrate both individual and collective success.
Inspired by the example of Saint Marcellin Champagnat, Year 3 students are encouraged to demonstrate kindness, respect and service to others. As they begin their Verrières journey, they are supported to become creative collaborators who contribute positively to their classroom, College and wider community, while growing in faith, character and purpose.
