Facts about Madora Bay

  • In 1960, Madora Bay started its journey as the “Madora Beach Estate.” The name is a combination of ‘Mandora’ from a Kimberley pastoral station and ‘Chadora,’ a railway siding near Dwellingup. In 1990, a little tweak happened and it became, thereafter, known as  ‘Madora Bay’.
  • The Suttons were Irish pioneers that arrived in this region in 1840. They helped shaped  growth, from owning ferries and inns to establishing a thriving dairy farm that stood as a testament to community spirit and heritage until the late 1940s. Their legacy, echoing in Madora Bay today, unfolds a rich tapestry of resilience and commitment to community values that continues to inspire generations.
